The Salubritas COVID-19 Antigen (Ag) Rapid Test is an individually packaged, self-contained, sample collection device, lateral flow chromatographic immunoassay for the detection of SARSCoV-2 (COVID-19) viral (nucleoprotein) antigens in human nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal (nose and throat) samples.
The Salubritas COVID-19 Antigen (Ag) Rapid Test is one of the world’s first rapid screening tests for the identification of the COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2), from 14 days after initial exposure to the virus and or after the onset of symptoms.
There is no laboratory testing required, instead results are available in just 15 minutes via the portable immunoassay device.

Do I need to do any preparation before I take my test?
If you are taking an antigen or PCR test, please confirm that you do not eat, drink, chew gum or brush your teeth at least 20 minutes before your mouth mop sample is taken. Doing this can contaminate your sample which may result in it needing a retest and therefore, extend your result.
Also, if you are requesting a test for a fit to fly certificate and would like your passport number on the result form, please take it with you in your documentation to your appointment, or write your passport number on the test request form.

What type of test is the Rapid Antigen test?
It is a swab test that detects the presence of protein particles from the virus that causes covid-19 virus. The test must be administered by a trained healthcare professional. A swab is taken from the nose (nasopharyngeal), fluid is added and this fluid is then tested for the presence of viral protein using a lateral flow device.
Why would I do a Rapid Antigen test?
To abruptly check if you are vulnerable to others. With results in 15-20 minutes, this test lets you know if you are putting others at risk as well as letting you know if you are infected with covid-19. occupational places may want to regularly test their people to make sure they are not at risk of infecting each other.
Is the Rapid Antigen test accurate?
The Salubritas Antigen rapid test that we use has shown a 98.4% accuracy in detecting viral levels that are currently considered to be infectious. It has an overall sensitivity and specificity agreement with RT-PCR results of 97.9%
